The return of Eagles’ DT Fletcher Cox could prove vital for the Eagles. Pro Football Focus has given him a grade of 80.7 on the season and pairing him back up with DT Timmy Jernigan will help shut down the Panthers ability to run inside.

Seeing his first action since Week 2, Eagles DB Jaylen Watkins will give the Eagles an added piece to what has been a depleted secondary. Defensive Coordinator Jim Schwartz moves Watkins around depending on the match-ups presented. He has played the majority of his snaps at LCB, followed by RCB, and has played at least one snap at Nickel and Linebacker.

Panthers’ inactive DB Kurt Coleman has struggled this season, but with Southward and Cox also out, the Panthers will be thin in their defensive backfield, an area the Eagles will likely want to test early.
