Injury Impact: Eagles at Rams Report

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

Questionable

TE Zach Ertz (concussion)

LB Joe Walker (neck)

With LB Walker a full participant in practice all week, there’s a good chance he will return to the line-up, which would likely push newly acquired LB Dannell Ellerbe back to a healthy scratch.

TE Ertz stills leads the team in receptions despite missing 1 ½ games, and has yet to clear the concussion protocol after slamming his head on the ground against the Seattle Seahawks. An uptick in snaps for tight ends Trey Burton and Brent Celek, who have combined for a 23-253-2 receiving stat line, would be in order if Ertz can’t go. The Rams allow the sixth-fewest yards to tight ends.

Doubtful

CB Dominique Hatfield (hip)

Questionable

WR Robert Woods (shoulder)

LB Alec Ogletree (elbow)

OLB (Connor Barwin)

WR Woods has posted 47 catches, 703 yards, and 4 touchdowns on the year and would be a welcome addition back for this match-up for the Rams. The Eagles have allowed a league low 152 yards per game over the last three games, a league low. In Woods’ stead, untested rookie WR Josh Reynolds would see significantly more snaps, much like the last two weeks (80.5%, 72.4%).

The feeling is OLB Barwin will not dress for this game against his former team, but LB Ogletree may. Ogletree is another undersized Rams’ backer, but despite his athletic profile, but Pro Football Focus credits him with giving up 46 catches on 55 targets for 390 yards (266 yards after catch) and 2 touchdowns while snagging one INT.

When Defensive Coordinator Wade Phillips wants to blitz extra men, Ogletree is his go to. He has blitzed 63 times for 2 sacks and 17 total pressures good for the fifth best pass rush productivity rating (21.0) among off ball linebackers.
